Some people play videogames for challenge themselves, some play them to just pass the time, some play them to escape the world of stressful, hardworking life.
I used to play them for challenge, but these days it’s becoming less and less thing I look for in games..since nowadays I’d want to play a game that doesn’t make me feel annoyed because I’d lose a section over and over again, but at same time, it would be nice if there’s some challenge that makes game not “pushover”. However, I tend to play all kind of games, so if there’s challenge, I will keep playing to get better at the game - that’s if I actually enjoy the game. But, I do wonder, is that even healthily to do? I mean, for games like Halo 3, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, N+, Street Fighter IV and....many more, but these games are what I can think of. Apart from Dead Or Alive 4, that is.
I’d go and leap on the online world of console/PC gaming to chill out and enjoy the gaming... which would be good thing, yes? Well... yes and no. I’d say yes because it helps me stop feeling bored, thus passing the time much quicker, but no if the game is enough to make me feel angry. And angry. And Angry. So much anger... and I actually ended up smashed stuff – be it my keyboard, mouse, pad or whatever I could get my hands on. Halo 3 was main reason why I’ve managed to broke 2 keyboards and one mouse... and that’s the thing, I could of blame “too-good-players” on Ranked games of Halo 3, but that’s the thing – it’s my fault, I shouldn’t be that angry over a game. Well, of course, “It’s just a game” is a phrase I hate to hear as it’s not the point... sooner or later they’ll understand anyway.
But I do feel it can be, rather nasty if games can turn peaceful person into really, really violent gamer. That’s why I tend to stay away from games that makes me angry easily, but I’m thinking, “What’s the point just keeping up like this?” and I thought, I’d may as well try to find games that can calm me after stressful hour of Halo 3 – or Brawl – like, Flower for PSN. Now that’s wonderfully relaxing game... I just wish there’s more games like this, it’d help people more. But enough about that.
The thing is, the games can REALLY make you feel angry, because you felt like you’ve not gaining something because you’d kept failing the section over and over again in any games, not getting many kills because you’d get owned by all sides in any online FPS games, or someone who always pick Ken and spam same move over and over in Street Fighter IV... which can either make you do: Yell at your TV/PC with swearing words. I would provide you with example, but I’m sure you can think one of yourself... or even destroy stuff, which is worst thing you’ve can do.
Now, I try to learn how to calm myself when playing games that used to make me feel angry. I find that thinking “Relax, you’ll improve soon”, or any positive, calm thoughts – or even do anything that calms you down. I’ve find it works, especially I can now play Halo 3 with very, very few anger problems. But that’s only for online gaming, the main problem would be Single Player. In Beat-em-up games, that is. When you’re playing through likes of Dead Or Alive 4 – which is known for famous Alpha-152 – it becomes to point where you’re just fed up, you want to carry on, but the CPU is being annoying thus won’t let you..all you can do is being really, really, angry, unless you give up & calm down – but that’s also major problem, I don’t give up easily. Now, I’m sorry for swearing but.....
FUCK YOU ALPHA-152, GO FUCK OFF AND DIE, YOU FUCKING WHORE! JUST FUCKING STOP GRABBING MY FUCKING FACE AND “MWAHAHAHA, I SHALL DRAIN YOUR HP EVEN THOUGH ITS HALFWAY TO KO’D, ANDDDDD YOU’RE OUT!!!! ALL YOUR WORK IS WASTED, BECAUSE I’M SO SUCH BITCH TO ALLOW YOU HAVE SOME KIND OF FUN. DURR DURR DURRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!”
...shows how you much I hate her.
I’d like to be able to play games without getting angry easily, but I wonder if that’s even possible especially as I’d want to keep playing Street Fighter IV, and that would easily piss me off if I’m keeping playing the single player which is really, really annoying. Especially cheap bosses. Ugh. Still, all I know is, if it DOES make you feel angry, it’s best to pause the game, or even turn 360 off, just to walk away and relax. Try to relax... because I can tell you, getting stressful over videogames IS NOT FUN. So don’t even play any of games you may have difficulty to keep down your cool after hard, stressful day..because it’ll make things worse.
That’s all I can think of saying on this matter... so, in short, videogames can be great if it passes the time & makes you feel relaxed, but if it does makes you feel stressful you may as well try to find another game that’s relaxed enough for you to play....or even learn how to fight your anger problems. Oh, and I’m thankful I’m deaf, thus mic isn’t problem... otherwise I’d be known as most foul-mouthed on online gaming, ever. Videogames are that powerful...

Hello (Introduction & NOBYNOBY BOY)
Thought I'd start up a public blog because, well, why not? Here, I'm going to - yeah you guessed from the title of the blog - talk about videogames, one of my hobbies.
And I'm also deaf gamer, to boot. So not only you get to hear (or should that be read? Ha! Shit joke) opinions from a gamer, you get to read deaf gamer's P.O.V of the games! Exiciting, no?
...No? Oh well.
Anyway, thought I'd start this blog off with Noby Noby Boy, which has just recently released on Playstation Network, for £3.19 - basically, the developers who are behindNoby Noby Boy is also known for their recent games, Katamari where you play as this little guy rolling the ball picking up stuff, which is addicative & fun.
However, as much as wacky Katamari games are, you don't see it all unless you play Noby Noby Boy. It's really, really.....wacky, to say at least. Basically, you take control of BOY, stretching him by controlling his upper body & lower boy with two analog sticks, eating stuff (including people) to fatten to help NNB to stretch more & eat bigger stuff....and you keep stretching, so you can help GIRL - whom can't do all the stretching (probably her excuse - forcing BOY to do all of her work. Poor BOY) - by reporting to Sun, and if you do this you'll be also helping other people to reach new worlds, which means new maps for you to mess around in.
There's no goal, you can just keep stretching.... at first I thought it was pretty... disappointing, at least. However once I just play it more and more it becomes one of addicative games I've ever played in my life, on PS3 that is. There's always been moments where it made me giggle like idiot, basically knocking over a guy and chasing him all over map via "Pac-Man NOMNOMNOM" style. When it doesn't seem there's much to do, you do not need to make sense out of it, because after few hours, I still don't get it unlike Katamari series, it's that wacky. The camera is huge issue in this game, but after while you do get used to it...I do wish it'd be better, it got me felt annoyed on few moments when I was stretching it'd be centering to middle of body - which is annoying especially if you're trying to just have highest stretching BOY without shrinking him. Other than that though, the game plays very well.
Seriously, if you are Playstation 3 owner, and you'd like a game that allows you to relax, stretching BOY all day when laughing at little stuff that happens in the game......go to PSN store, add £5 to your wallet & buy it. It's only £3.19, when there's no demo version of it (yet), isn't that much, so if you don't like it..you won't be wasting alot of money anyway..and if you do, great! Help other BOYs to grow GIRL some more, and reach new planets and all that. Go and do that now.
Oh, also, forgot to say... with recent PS3 firmware, it allows you to upload Youtube videos from your PS3 to your YT account, which is one of my favourite features - and Noby Noby Boy is first one that takes advantage of this feature. Here's my videos if you want to see:
